Throughout his career, James Durkin has been building and growing his career as a professional with experience in multiple areas, including business, entrepreneurship, real estate, and healthcare.
Working in the healthcare arena, James Durkin is Non-Physician Corporate Owner of Medical Facilities through his business, Durkar Enterprises. James founded Durkar Enterprises, LLC in 2013 in Boca Raton where he currently serves as CEO. Within the real estate sector, James is the Founder of Property Source Investments (PSI), his real estate investment company.
Through Property Source Investments, James works tirelessly to organize the investment funds of his clients into a diversified real estate portfolio. He relies on his skills, knowledge, and industry expertise to inform his strategy as he manages accounts from acquisition of property to funding and through the closing. James founded Property Source Investments in 2011 following his own personal homebuying experience. While he was happy with the home he purchased, James felt as though the overall experience was lacking in professionalism and transparency, which got the gears in his head turning. He knew there had to be a better way to execute these real estate transactions and – after learning and absorbing as much as he could about the industry, James Durkin founded his business a year later where he’s been handing everything from dealing with investors to seeking out investment opportunities in real estate to the acquisition, construction, remarketing, and selling of these properties.
As a businessman, James Durkin’s truest passion is working with businesses to identify where there is a gap in their business or offerings. Take for example something like dermatology that seems rather mundane from the outside: James loves starting businesses within these sectors and growing them from the foundation up. His passion is being able to have his hands in every aspect of the business’s creation, from crafting a business plan to identifying individual talent to build the team.
While there are many who work in business and entrepreneurship who are in it for the lucrative nature to make quick money, but what excited James Durkin the most is building and developing a business across every aspect of it – from the creation of the plan to hand selecting who will help run it – and then getting to watch it grow to a point where he can sell it and move on to the next adventure.
